My Story
My first memory of painting was at age 5. We lived in Ft Worth, Texas while my family was on furlough from the mission field. Cali, Colombia was our home. I have always loved arts and crafts, but didnt pick up a paintbrush again until 2020. To keep my grandkids busy, i bought a small paint set. I ended up keeping myself busy! Since that day i have painted in many styles. Watercolor, acrylic, and now oils. Always learning, and improving is my goal as I paint almost daily.
My Bio
Karen Clark resides in Athens, Georgia. She began her art career after many years in the home decor and design industry. As a home stager and color consultant, she developed her eye for clients needs. Karen realized beautiful original art can change a whole room. Providing art for collectors and the real estate market is now an outlet for her skills.
In 2017, Karen wrote a children’s book Big Changes For Little Bugs. She saw how the destruction of several hurricanes impacted families and homes. Karen hired an illustrator who was able to capture her vision for the book. The art was so impactful and healing that it led to Karen’s desire to pursue her own art career.
During the Covid-19 pandemic she took online art courses and realized her God-given love for color and design could be expressed through her art. Art can heal painful moments and many pieces are inspired by her life. She uses her imagination to create one of a kind florals and abstracts to fill homes with color and mixed media textures. Oil and collage are her most used mediums
Karen will graduate from The Milan Art Institute in 2027. Her passion for color comes to life in her mixed media paintings. The Mastery Program has allowed her to fulfill her love of color and design in the most creative ways. She incorporates collage and spray paints to enhance her art. She has hidden pieces of old family letters in her paintings from her years in Colombia, South America. These special messages add meaning and a piece of Karen in every design.
Karen has developed a unique painting style that her collectors love. She incorporates family momentos into a custom heirloom painting.
“ Layered Memories” is Karen’s exciting new offering. Karen will preserve your family memories and your story in a customized mixed media commission. She uses collage to preserve family letters, photos, and recipes in meaningful imagery. You will be delighted to find your special mementos under layers of colors.
